Life Between the Pages (Book Sculptures and Collages)
Sellon kirjasto, Espoo
ilmainen
This exhibition features book sculptures created by participants as part of InterLab rf's project "Old is Beautiful" in Espoo. The works are made from books that were threatened with destruction. They have been given new life through art.
The exhibition "Life Between the Pages" highlights the expressive possibilities of book sculpture and collage. In these works, the book serves simultaneously as a text carrier, material, memory, and starting point for a new story.
The project aims to promote recycling, ecological thinking, and sustainable creativity, while emphasizing the significance of memories and objects as part of our shared cultural heritage. Works created from old books remind us that even materials destined for disposal contain value, stories, and beauty.
InterLab is an Espoo-based association that promotes artistic and innovative activity, founded in 2017. The association's goal is to create artistic projects focused on creative practice and contemporary art. Many of the association's projects aim at creative combinations of collage, theatre, and virtual reality. The team encompasses a broad range of professionals from various art disciplines, including theatre, photography, film, painting, music, and dance.
The project "Old is Beautiful" is supported by the City of Espoo / KulttuuriEspoo.
The exhibition is open during library hours. Welcome!
