By the Water, Under the Stars

In this exhibition, I present paintings that capture moments by water's mystical element in all its forms, as well as timeless starry landscapes that carry thoughts to vast dimensions. These landscapes and atmospheres can be experienced by the viewer as uplifting, relaxing, or energizing. My paintings are mostly acrylics, and in some I have also used oil paint.

I am Paula Heljakka, a visual artist, art educator, and art therapist. I have studied visual art at Snellman University of Applied Sciences and Pekka Halonen Academy. I am inspired by life's mysteries, nature, and the various forms of creative expression. I create paintings where colour, movement, energy, narrative, and developmental processes are central. I also make intuitive power paintings, crowns, and jewellery. I teach visual art at Snellman University of Applied Sciences and in art courses. I have also created illustrations, including for the book Pohjolan naisen voimakirja.

I create above all uplifting art that contains the beautiful depth and wonder of life. I also greatly value the healing aspects of art. I work in my studio in Espoo.
