Vallilan Tango

Founded in 2005, the dance orchestra Vallilan Tango performs familiar, obscure, and previously unreleased popular music classics from the 1930s-50s.

Vallilan Tango's vintage instrumentation - including violin, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, accordion, and banjo-ukulele - brings to life the crackling records of that era. The orchestra's singer, Dutchman Hans Wessels, adds an exotic touch. He left his homeland and came to Finland to sing melancholic tangos.
