Park Walk - Tullisaari Park in the Company of Merchant Councillor Borgström
Tullisaari, tapahtuma-alue, Helsinki
ilmainen
Merchant Councillor Henrik Borgström invites city residents to explore his park and gardens. During the tour, he shares stories about his family's life and Helsinki in the 1800s - we examine the remains of buildings that once stood on the grounds and the beautifully restored park, and we walk out to the piers where the gentry sailed from the city to attend Borgström's celebrations. Opera singer Aino Ackté later purchased the villa of Borgström's son-in-law, and the Turholm festivities continued into the 1900s.
The walk departs from the information board at Tullisaari Park on Tuurholmantie. The route is approximately 2.5 km long and is suitable for families with children and people with limited mobility who can walk at a leisurely pace.
