Jussi Rinta-Hoiska: From Lock to Light

Jussi Rinta-Hoiska has worked with social themes for nearly 20 years. The exhibition features old and new photographic and video works.

"My first art photograph From Lock to Light was completed in 2006. It has been almost 20 years since then.

The works in the exhibition tell the story of a young girl's journey. At first, the girl does not know which direction to go. She lacks knowledge and feels like an outsider. Eventually, the girl finds the key and becomes free from the closed space.

On her journey, the girl explores society and herself. She walks from darkness to light, learns to understand her own life, and finds confidence through language. Eventually she grows stronger and moves forward.

The exhibition includes a guided tour in Finnish sign language on Saturday 22.08.2026 from 13.00 to 14.00.
