On Friday 26.6.2026, Comedy Mayhem brings something never before seen on the stand up stage in Joensuu: a roast battle evening. In this special comedy night, comedians perform short sets of their own material to become familiar to the audience, after which they compete against each other in wit, speed and shameless stage presence. Roast battle brings a competitive spirit, surprises, immediate reactions and situations that cannot be fully scripted in advance.

But what exactly is roast battle? Roast battle is a form of stand up comedy where two comedians meet on stage and take turns hurling sharp, clever and funny roasts at each other. The goal is not to actually argue, but to create entertaining, pointed and good-natured mean comedy in front of the audience. Participants know each other from comedy circles and are part of a shared game, but on stage nothing is spared. The evening digs up old grudges, regional boundaries, personality differences and shameful character traits.

Comedy Mayhem club is located right in the heart of Joensuu, in the basement of restaurant Mayhem in a lounge-like space that transforms into a venue for up to 80 spectators and a small performance area. The evening lasts about 2 hours and includes a break. The bar serves guests upstairs throughout the evening.
