Vekararokki 2026

Vekararokki is a rock festival for the youngest family members, held on Ilosaari island in Joensuu on Thursday 2.7.2026 from 15:00 to 19:00. The stage features Hevisaurus and Mimmit, and dance studio Feenix presents an interactive K-pop show. The festival area also has bouncy castles and other activities for children. Infants and babies in prams get free entry.

Tickets are purchased from Tiketti - tickets are not sold at the gate. The entrance ticket is exchanged for a wristband at the gate or in advance at Eliel Saarinen Park at the Itä Bridge on the Joensuu city centre side. Advance wristband exchange is open on Tuesday 30.7. from 11:00 to 18:00 and Wednesday 1.7. from 11:00 to 18:00. The ticket price is 6 euros during May and from 1.6. 8 euros. At Kerubin restaurant, the Vekararokki menu is served from 15:00 to 18:00 as a buffet. The menu costs 27 euros for adults, 13 euros for 5-12-year-olds and 1 €/year of age for children under 5. The buffet includes grilled country chicken (M,G), shredded peas (V,G), burger patties (M,G) with brioche buns, small sausages and meatballs (M,G), country fries (V,G) and Monterey Jack cheese (L,G). Starters include cucumber and carrot sticks (V,G), melon salad (V,G), tomato-mozzarella salad (L,G) and Caesar salad (L). For dessert there is chocolate fondue and white chocolate (L), vanilla wind hats (L,G), marshmallows (M,G) as well as coffee and tea.

Accessibility: An assistant gets free entry together with the person being assisted on the same ticket. The island is mostly a park area - grass and sand - and the area is crossed by sandy paths. The area has small slopes. In front of the stage there is a viewing platform for customers with mobility restrictions, accessible via a gentle ramp. Kerubin restaurant has lifts and an accessible toilet.
