Vekararokki 2026 — Ilosaari, Joensuu

Vekararokki is a rock festival for children on Ilosaar island in Joensuu. The festival takes place on Thursday, 2 July, from 15:00 to 19:00. The main attractions are Hevisaurus and Mimmit, plus a K-pop show from dance studio Fenix. The festival area also features activities for children, such as bouncy castles.

Ticket prices are 6 euros in May and 8 euros from 1 June onwards. Toddlers and children in prams get free entry. Tickets are exchanged for wristbands, which can be done in advance at the East Bridge on the Joensuu city centre side, in Eliel Saarinen Park. Pre-exchange is open Tuesday 30 July from 11:00 to 18:00 and Wednesday 1 July from 11:00 to 18:00.

The festival is held on Ilosaar, which is mostly parkland with grass and sand. Roads through the area are sanded. There are small slopes. Restaurant Kerubi's premises have lifts. In front of the Vekararokki stage is a viewing platform for people with mobility restrictions, accessible via a gentle ramp. Accessible toilets are located at restaurant Kerubi.

Inside Kerubi, the Vekararokki menu is served from a buffet from 15:00 to 18:00. The menu costs 27 euros for adults and 13 euros for children. There is an extensive buffet where you can build your own burgers.
