After the explosive success of the rock band Boycott, he switched to singing in Finnish and launched a solo career that took off with massive hits such as Via Dolorosa, Kevät ja minä, Villi ja vapaa, Syvälle sydämeen sattuu, Rööperin kuu, and Elämä kantaa mua, as well as thrilling live performances that placed him among the country's top artists.

Tommi has received numerous gold and platinum records throughout his career and was awarded Male Artist of the Year in 1995. Having navigated the ups and downs of his career, both successes and challenges, the artist has drawn on his lived experience for his songs, which is why they resonate with so many Finns.
