Read more about accessibility! The classics from Leevi and the Leavings shine again as the Leavings Orchestra embarks on a tour together with Timo Rautiainen. The band, formed by original members of Leevi, has conducted successful tours over the years with rotating soloists. According to the band, all beloved songs will be performed in arrangements as close to the originals as possible. The tour performances continue into 2026.
"Timo Rautiainen joining as the new soloist reinforced the idea of hitting the road again. We hope the upcoming concerts will be exactly what Leavings fans expect to hear. Timo's tenor voice is perfectly suited to interpret Gösta Sundqvist's strong lyrical work", says Juha Karastie of the Leavings Orchestra.
The band's drummer Niklas Nylund agrees with Karastie: "Timo was new to me, although I know Trio Niskalaukaus quite well, but we started syncing nicely right from the start. We are living in exciting times, and I can't wait for the upcoming club gigs".
For Timo Rautiainen, the soloist contract was thrilling: "It is a great honour for me to perform Gösta Sundqvist's songs live with the original Leavings Orchestra. Already at the very first joint rehearsals at Nick's (Nylund) studio, I felt the atmosphere almost magical. I had an almost unbelievable feeling when I realized who I was about to play with. That is why I strive to do my best to ensure these legendary songs sound dignified at the concerts and my contribution supports the whole as much as possible.
