Konnevesi Women's Week 2026 - Spirit, Art and Future
Konnevesi Women's Week takes place 18-20 July 2026. The event brings together concerts, poetry and spoken word, lectures, art exhibitions and free pop-up programmes at various locations in Konnevesi town centre - talks on architecture and philosophy, plus musical performances. 18:00 - "Dear Eeva Kilpi!" - Konnevesi Church (Kirkkotie 1, 44300 Konnevesi)
Eija Ahvo (vocals and recitation), Maija Ruuskanen (piano) and author Anna-Riikka Carlson present a concert based on Carlson's work "Dear Eeva Kilpi - These Celebrations Continue". The work is produced in collaboration between Turku City Theatre and the National Theatre of Finland.

20:00 - "Storm on a Plate, Shakespeare-style" - Konnevesi Väentalo (Lahdenkyläntie 1, 44300 Konnevesi)
Chef-stars Meri-Tuuli Väntsi and Pipsa Hurmerinta serve a four-course dinner made from local ingredients - wild salmon, forest herbs and root vegetables. Who is Prospero? Who is Ariel? All will be revealed during the evening.

15:00 - "Shedding my Skin" - Konnevesi Church (Kirkkotie 1, 44300 Konnevesi)
Trio Unusual (Patrik Kleemola, guitar; Mikko Luoma, accordion; Kaisa Kraft, soprano) perform music by Igor Stravinsky, Jukka Tiensuu, Juha T. Koskinen and Minna Leinonen. The concert concludes with Mikko Heiniö's song cycle set to poems by poet Eira Stenberg from the collection "Divorce Book".

19:00 - "In the Footsteps of John" - Konnevesi Church (Kirkkotie 1, 44300 Konnevesi)
Musical script: Pami Karvonen. Text dramaturgy: Kristiina Pelto-Timperi. The programme features music by composers Pärt, Liszt, Bach, Feldman and Kokkonen. Performers are actor Tommi Korpela and piano and organ Pami Karvonen.
