Accessibility: An assistant receives free entry together with the person being assisted on the same ticket. Vinha's yard is sand and grass. Vinha's first floor is accessible, but the event takes place in the garden and on the upper floor of the barn, reached via a steep bridge. Vinha Book Festival is held for the fourth time in the height of summer on 24-25 July 2026 in Ruovesi, in the green garden of Vinha bookshop!
The two-day festival brings together leading Finnish literary figures, current discussions, visual art and live music in an atmospheric setting. Author interviews are at the heart of the programme, with both established names in Finnish literature and new emerging voices taking the stage. The interviewers are Juha Roiha and Annina Holmberg. The festival's atmosphere is enhanced by evening musical performances.
Friday 24.7.
The book festival opens on Friday at 14:00 with the opening of Hannu Väisänen's magical exhibition "Pagans and Healers" at Vinha Gallery. Väisänen is one of the most internationally acclaimed Finnish artists. He is known as a versatile painter and graphic artist, but also as a writer, set designer and performer.
The day's interviewees on the garden stage are thriller writer Antti Tuomainen, illustrator and children's author Anne Vasko, writer and visual artist Hannu Väisänen, debut author Anneka Ahoniemi and historian and doctor of philosophy Tuomas Hoppu. Friday evening's musical experiences will be provided by Liisa Akimof and Topi Saha. The programme ends around 22:00.
Saturday 25.7.
The programme begins at 13:00 with an interview with author Roope Lipasti, and during the day the stage will also feature the frequently awarded Riitta Jalonen, Emma Alftan who attracted attention with her debut, crime writer and non-fiction author JP Koskinen and Finland Prize...
