Fiskars Summer Festival 2026

Fiskars Summer Festival is held for the seventh time in the historic mill village of Fiskars. The festival centers on an intensive masterclass for young conductors and a mentoring programme for young instrumentalists. The programme features orchestra and chamber music concerts where students perform alongside their mentors and invited soloists.
The festival's open public concert (free admission) is Young Conductors' Showcase on Fri 31.7. At Puimala: masterclass conducting students lead the Fiskars Festival Orchestra with violinist Otto Antikainen and mezzo-soprano Karen Cargill as soloists. The programme includes works by Mozart, Sibelius, Britten and Beethoven.
The festival concludes on Sat 1.8. at 19:00 at Puimala. The conductor is Jukka-Pekka Saraste and the soloist is Karen Cargill, who sings Wagner's Wesendonck Lieder (1857-58). Other works include Beethoven's Egmont Overture, Tarkiainen's Ring of Fire and Love and Dvořák's 7th Symphony.
