The 2026 programme was announced, with the theme 'Hands - On Traditions' (Käsillä tehty perinne) spotlighting instrument builders, costume makers and other craftspeople central to folk tradition.

Three showcase bands for 2026 were selected: Melkutus Party, uni uni and Veikko Virkkala Band, continuing the festival's series supporting internationalising folk artists.

The opening day (Monday 13 July) is free of charge for all visitors, thanks to a three-year partnership with OP Jokilaaksot running through 2028.
