Irina Poleshchuk: The Trace of the Alien (art exhibition) — Entressen kirjasto, Espoo
Free entry

A memory of something that never happened, yet we feel it within us - traces of scent, texture, form, shadow, hidden movements, other faces and gazes - all of this forms the mystery of the forest, trees, plants, and mystical beings. We do not see them, but we feel the connection and the presence of a parallel dimension. They penetrate us and change us, observe us but also protect us. This is our home, a place where we belong.

The exhibition explores nature's other side: its power and care. It reminds us of something forgotten and restores the feeling of the earth that nourishes us.

Irina Poleshchuk (born 1977) is a Belarusian artist currently living in Finland. She has worked in art for 30 years, and her experience spans from graphic art to painting as well as from exhibition curation to performance art. She earned her doctorate in social sciences in 2009 (University of Helsinki) and currently teaches art history, contemporary art, and aesthetics at the European Humanities University (Vilnius, Lithuania).

The exhibition is open during the library's operating hours.
