Jukka Tolonen Ramblin' Jazz Quartet

Jukka Tolonen's latest band was born from a meeting with guitarist Lasse Keso, who is making a documentary about Tolonen and has a music history dating back to the early 1970s. The band's name comes from Tolonen's early years, and the lineup includes pianist Antti Utriainen and drummer Vesa Lapinkero, both of whom have played with Tolonen before.

The repertoire spans old, new, and borrowed material from across the years - that's Tolonen. The quartet plays hypnotic, jazzy improvisational music where the nuances of the bass sometimes feel like messages from the guitar. Club performances have stretched to nearly two hours.
