Lecture: Handcraft from Natural Materials Nearby - Artist and Craftsperson Saija Lehtonen

This lecture explores why using natural materials from the local area and preserving traditional knowledge is important - and what impact it has. Time is reserved at the end for group discussion.

Lecturer Saija Lehtonen is a visual artist and craftsperson working in Karstula and Nokia. In her work, she uses natural materials extensively, and she values hands-on making, old and even primitive techniques, as well as understanding the origins of materials.
