RESPONSIBILITY IS WISDOM - WORKSHOP

The workshop explores how responsible action builds wisdom both as an individual and as a member of a community. The central framework is Hellison's model of responsibility, which offers a concrete and progressively advancing structure for learning responsibility - the model can be applied to decision-making, interaction, and everyday choices.

The workshop experts are PhD, rector and coach Seppo Pulkkinen, university lecturer in sports psychology Hanna-Mari Toivonen, and university lecturer Tommi Mäkinen from the University of Jyväskylä, as well as lecturer Laura Otsala from Laurea University of Applied Sciences. The chair is professor emerita Taru Lintunen, who specializes in research on teaching emotional and interactive skills.

Seppo Pulkkinen has extensive experience in the education sector in various roles and a long career as a sports coach at national and international levels. Hanna-Mari Toivonen teaches and researches emotional and interactive skills, group phenomena, and responsibility in sports. Tommi Mäkinen has trained parents, teachers, and professionals from other fields in emotional and interactive skills. Laura Otsala teaches emotional and interactive skills to higher education students.
