Night of the Arts: Unknown Suburb on the Big Screen
Helsingin kaupunginmuseo, Helsinki
ilmainen
During the Night of the Arts, the Helsinki City Museum screens documentaries about Helsinki's suburbs. Admission is free, and the event is part of the "Unknown Suburb" exhibition programme.
The evening begins with suburb clips from 5-7 p.m. (4A), followed by documentary filmmaker Heidi Piiroinen presenting her film "Black Hole Mama" and discussing its creation (7-8 p.m., 4A). From 8:45-10:45 p.m., short documentaries and vintage advertisements are shown on the Falkman courtyard using a classic 35 mm film projector - technical support provided by Helsinki Studio Services. El Fant Cafe & Bar sells refreshments, and visitors can tour the projection room.
The museum's exhibitions remain open until 11 p.m. The Children's City closes at its regular time of 7 p.m.
