Pride Art Exhibition: Lis Vila Rosas: Between the Sea and the Sky, I Would Like…

Between the Sea and the Sky, I Would Like… is Lis Vila Rosas' textile and poetry exhibition exploring experiences of migration, queerness, and belonging. Vila Rosas works without predetermined patterns: crochet, recycled yarn, and intuitive textile processes guide the works, whose core consists of poems about relationships between women, identity, memory, and intimacy.

The exhibition's title alludes to an in-between space - "between the sea and the sky" - describing a space without solid ground: constant movement, transition, and arrival. Originally from Isla Margarita in Venezuela and Alicante in Spain, Vila Rosas draws inspiration from experiences of migration and multicultural background. The works explore what it means to exist between places without a fixed point of departure or destination.

The exhibition features three works: Algas y algo (2025) (Seaweed and Something Else), Angelito de pelo de plata (2026) (Little Angel with Silver Hair), and Conversación con un musgo (2026) (Conversation with a Moss). All works are made from recycled yarn, fabric, and print.
