Parisian garage punk duo Human Toys arrives in Helsinki for the first time. Frontman Poupée (vocals, theremin) counters sexism with irony and humor, while guitarist Jon Von - formerly of Rip Offs - completes the duo with ferocious punk rock somewhere between Ramones and Avengers. The band has released two albums on Topsy-Turvy Records, exploring themes of B-movies, drugs, perversions, Trump, sexism, and nihilism.
Twin Serpent from Trondheim, Norway, blends country influences with punk energy. Inspired by The Taxpayers and 16 Horsepower, this crust-country band applies lo-fi black metal aesthetics with acoustic and electric guitars, vocal harmonies, piercing solos, and a skewed banjo - without bloodshed.
The evening opens with Black Magic Six, a garage-punk-blues band active for nearly two decades. Motherfuckin' Japanderi and Taskinen have released five albums and played nearly 700 shows across thirty countries. The set includes familiar tracks from Grease The Machine to Doomsday Bound, plus songs not heard in a long time. No other autumn shows are scheduled in Helsinki.
