Brages spelmanslag & Brage folkdansare: Kvällspel i augusti
ilmainen
The Brage association's folk musicians and traditional dancers return for the fifth time to Vuotalo for an August evening of folk music. The programme features Finland-Swedish folk music and dances.
The ensemble's artistic director is Henrica Westerholm, and the group's mission is to perform Finland-Swedish folk music. The folk dance group consists of dancers of various ages, and its repertoire includes minuets, polkas, hambo dances, and singing games. Under the direction of folk dance master Eivor Wallinvirra, the individual dances form a unified whole in which song, dance, and music depict life's events - celebrations and special occasions - in the spirit of old tradition.
The Brage association was founded in Helsinki in 1906 to preserve Swedish-speaking folk culture through song, dance, and folk costumes.
