Animals' Day Off - Parade and Concert

The animals from Korkeasaari have decided to take a day off! An orchestra made up of musicians from Sointi Jazz Orchestra leads animal characters from Maria Baric Company and other participants in a jazz parade along the shores of Kalasatama towards Kalasatamanpuisto park. Along the way there are several outdoor artworks and stops where new animals join in.

You can dress according to an animal theme, bring your favorite stuffed animal, or come as you are. The parade departs from Mustikkamaa on August 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM, and you can join either from the artwork at Capellanaukio 1 or from the swing-themed playground in Loviseholmpark.

The parade culminates on the soccer field in Kalasatamanpuisto with a concert by Sointi Jazz Orchestra, where Maria Baric Company's giant hand puppets celebrating their 20th anniversary also perform. The show is designed for the whole family, lasts 45 minutes, and can be watched on the sports field or heard in the nearby park. The event is free.
