Lend Your Photographs from Bear Park - Exhibition Coming!

What is your Bear Park?

In August 2026, an exhibition opens at Kallio Library: Bear Park - 30 Years as the Residents' Living Room. The exhibition is created together with Kallio residents, and we are seeking photographs of Bear Park from over the years. The photograph doesn't need to be perfect - what matters is that it is connected to a memory. A picnic on the lawn, children playing, May Day, a dog walk, or an ordinary day on a park bench.

Lend your photograph to the library and tell us about it in a few sentences: what is happening in the photograph and why did this particular moment stay with you. The library will scan or digitize your photograph and print a new copy for the exhibition. Your original photograph will be returned to you.

Digital photographs: Send your photograph and memory by email to kallion_kirjasto@hel.fi

Paper photographs: Bring your photographs to Kallio Library's customer service. They will be digitized at the library, and originals can be picked up after a couple of working days. The library will notify you by email when they are ready.

Terms of participation

The photograph must be taken by you or you must have the photographer's permission to submit it. Copyright remains with the photographer, and the library will not use the photographs commercially. If the photograph shows identifiable people, you need their consent (for minors: guardian's consent) to display the photograph in a public exhibition.

By submitting your photograph, you grant the library permission to print and display the digitized photograph in the exhibition Bear Park - 30 Years as the Residents' Living Room at Kallio Library in August 2026, and to use it in the exhibition's communications, such as on the library's social media and website. The photographer's name will always be credited. The library reserves the right to select which photographs are included in the exhibition and to adjust the photograph's size and cropping. The submitted memory text may be edited or shortened for readability.

When submitting paper photographs, a brief form is completed with the number of photographs and the owner's contact information.
