Jazz for Kids: Nikita Rafaelov - Jazz Suomi 100
ilmainen
Jazz for Kids is a concert series by the Finnish Jazz Federation and Helsinki cultural centres, welcoming everyone from infants to grandparents. Professional musicians perform their own work at child-friendly volume levels in the easily accessible spaces of the cultural centres.
At Vuotalo, Helsinki-based keyboardist, producer and composer Nikita Rafaelov takes the stage. He performs tracks from his solo album Heart Does What Heart Wants, released in autumn 2024, as well as other new and older material. Using piano, synthesizer, sampler and computer, he explores electroacoustic jazz, ambient and lo-fi hip-hop. Rafaelov has performed at Pori Jazz, Oulu Music Festival and Flow Festival, among others.
The event lasts 45 minutes: the artist performs for approximately 35 minutes, after which the audience can greet the musician and see the instruments. The concert is part of the Jazz Suomi 100 jubilee programme, celebrating jazz as part of Finnish cultural heritage - 2026 marks 100 years since jazz symbolically arrived in Finland aboard the ship Andania.
Jazz for Kids concerts are also held at Helsinki cultural centres in Maunula-talo on 19.9. and Annantalo on 8.10.
Free admission.
