Hungarian Folk Culture Week

The Forgatós dance group presents Hungarian folk culture through folk dances and traditional costumes in Helsinki from 11-14 August 2026. All events are free.

11.8. 17.00-20.00 - Kino Regina, film screening
Hungarian Wedding (Magyar menyegző, 2025, directed by Csaba Káel) explores Transylvanian wedding traditions through music, dance and love. English subtitles.

13.8. 18.00 - Galleria U, exhibition opening: Tradition Tailored to Life - Hungarian folk costumes
The exhibition showcases Hungarian folk costumes and accessories from the Forgatós folk dance group's collection, reflecting peasant culture from the 18th and 19th centuries.

14.8. 18.00 - Liszt Institute, Dance Workshop
The Forgatós group teaches Hungarian folk dances. No previous dance experience required.
