Tanssin Aika 2026: Liikeveistämö - Demonstrations

The resident artists of Liikeveistämö invite the audience to observe artistic work up close. The afternoon includes demonstrations and discussions about them - the dancers' demonstrations are embodied explorations or unfinished choreographic ideas. No previous experience with demonstrations or dance art is required.

For spring 2026, dancers Laura Koistinen, Mimmi Salo and Taru Aho were selected for Liikeveistämö at the Central Finland Dance Center. The festival's artistic director and choreographer Veli Lehtovaara served as mentor for the artistic work.

Liikeveistämö is part of the Central Finland Dance Center's strategy to support artistic work. It provides working time for research and development in dance art as well as maintaining professional practice, and the format includes personal and shared training sessions at Kultuuritalo Villa Rana as well as the opportunity for choreographic mentoring.
