Dance Time 2026: Brunch and Discussion

The festival offers a vegan brunch accompanied by a workshop on embodiment in artistic practices. Curator, choreographer, and researcher Satu Herrala guides participants through a somatic activation and discusses embodiment in art production and presentation. Herrala also facilitates a discussion about artists' and audiences' experiences, needs, and wishes.

Herrala is conducting doctoral research at Aalto University on what happens when embodiment is placed at the centre of art curation. Behind this lies a broader question: burnout and exhaustion have become widespread both in the art field and across society - how could artists and art audiences instead recover and energize themselves through artistic processes and presentations?
