Tanssin Aika 2026: Theoria

Theoria is a duet about desire and longing, about the tension between the intimate and the powerful. The work is created by artists over 40 - it is a queer piece that asks how theory can be embodied and how thinking can sweat.

In the duet, touch and waiting, absence and presence form their own logic. There are strong grips and long pauses, silences where everything is clear - as clear as in Brokeback Mountain.

This is a theory of how we could be.

Breath is felt on skin, on hair.
Lips open, nothing moves.
Eyes turn around, gaze turns around, almost nothing is seen, not for a moment.

Body bends in an arc, toward the sky.
Music plays louder and louder.
