UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra & Elena Mîndru - Echoes of Broadway - Lunch Concert

Savoy Theatre and UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra's lunch concerts continue the autumn 2026 programme. Free tickets can be reserved from Thursday 20.8 at 15:00 from Savoy Theatre and Lippu.fi.

Echoes of Broadway is jazz singer Elena Mîndru's doctoral concert, in which Broadway classics are performed by a large jazz orchestra. The concert is the final artistic component of Mîndru's artistic doctorate at the Sibelius Academy. The Broadway pieces are heard in new big band arrangements by Artturi Röngä and Sampo Kasunen, with UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra's chief conductor Ville Vannemaa leading. The concert lasts approximately 60 minutes without an intermission.

Admission is free, but a ticket is required. Tickets (0 €) are available from Savoy Theatre's ticket office or from Lippu.fi - a 3 € booking fee is charged at Lippu.fi sales points. Maximum 2 tickets per customer; larger group bookings are handled directly by Savoy. With an advance ticket, entry is permitted until 11:50, after which any empty seats are filled with customers without tickets. The hall is closed to latecomers, so it is advisable to arrive on time.

Elena Mîndru (born 1988) has released six jazz albums under her own name; the latest, Second Time Around, is released in 2026. She regularly performs as a soloist with major orchestras in Finland and Romania and has composed works for big band, symphony orchestra, and smaller ensembles. More information: www.elenamindru.com
