A Moment Before Light - HopeaCine

HopeaCine is a film series for seniors featuring new Finnish films screened once a month.

September's film is Klaus Härö's "A Moment Before Light". Specialist nurse Inka (Laura Birn) works under demanding conditions, caught between her job and family life. Leni (Oona Airola) and Karin's (Jussi Vatanen) happiness fractures when their newborn is suddenly rushed to intensive care. The nurses plan a strike for better working conditions, and in this moment of uncertainty, Leni finds support in Inka - who herself faces difficult choices. Both women act from love and duty, but the right decision is not easy when their own lives and others' hang in the balance.

Each screening is followed by a discussion with filmmakers or film experts who explore the film's creative process. Guests will be announced later.
