Oona Airola (born 1988, Kokkola) is a Finnish actress and singer who trained at the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki. She has won two Jussi Awards - Best Supporting Actress for The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki (2016) and Best Leading Actress for Land of Hope (2018) - and in 2024 took the Dragon Award for Best Acting at the Gothenburg Film Festival for The Missile. Alongside her screen work she composes and performs with the band Lada Nuevo, which she founded, and has released solo music under her own name.
Airola starred as Finnish pop icon Kaija Koo in the biographical drama Kaunis rietas onnellinen, directed by Selma Vilhunen, which opened in Finnish cinemas on 18 February 2026.
Airola described the role as the biggest professional challenge of her career, saying she sang all the songs herself during filming.
Airola won the Dragon Award for Best Acting at the Gothenburg Film Festival for her performance in The Missile (Ohjus).
