Singing Studio Kaj Chydenius Presents: Embrace

Kaj Chydenius, who passed away in April 2024, conducted hundreds of concerts with his Singing Studio Kaj Chydenius alongside various singers from the turn of the millennium onwards. Now his sons, musicians Kalle and Jussi, have decided to continue this tradition. The concerts feature a selection of Kaj Chydenius songs performed by a small ensemble.

The brothers' first programme is titled "Embrace" and had its premiere in January 2026 in Orimattila at Mallsjoki, in the landscape of their childhood summers. Joining the programme is actress and singer Oona Airola, who collaborated with Kaj for nearly 20 years. The accompanying ensemble includes Risto Kupiainen (piano) and Sami Kuoppamäki (drums).

"For me, it has not been important to create exciting new versions of the compositions, but rather to respect and maintain Kaj's pursuit of a simplified and as natural a performance style as possible", says Kalle Chydenius.

The ticket price includes a 3 € service charge in the foyer. Student tickets require a student ID or other proof of student status. An assistant receives free entry with the person being assisted on the same ticket. The event is accessible for wheelchair users, and there is an accessible toilet. There is no wheelchair lift.
