Aavikko is a three-member band founded in 1995 in Siilinjärvi that creates functional background music - electronic sound design with synthesizers. The band calls their music "muysic": retrofuturistic rhythms and catchy melodies where technology is a tool, not an end in itself. Six albums have already been recorded.

The motto for live performances sums it up simply: "we play, you dance".
