Jarkko Toivonen: Brazilian Trip

Bossa nova guitarist Jarkko Toivonen performs with his longtime musical partners, percussionist Mongo Aaltonen and bassist Tuure Kosk. Toivonen celebrates his 40th anniversary as an artist next year.

The programme spans his entire body of work: from his debut album Sambolero (1987) to last year's album View to Serenity. He has recorded 13 albums in total. The concert features bossa nova and samba alongside bolero, choro, and baiao styles. Toivonen has previously performed with guitarist Sebastiao Tapajós, flautist and singer Danilo Caymmi, percussionist Marcelo Salazar, and singer Ithamara Koorax.

Club night with A-license. Doors open at 17.30; children under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian. Café Pokkari provides refreshments. The concert lasts approximately 2 hours including intermission.
