Baltic Sea Festival
Keskustakirjasto Oodi, Helsinki
ilmainen
The Baltic Sea Festival is a free event spread across Kansalaistori square, Oodi library, the Music Centre, and Finlandia Hall. The day opens with a carnival procession and continues with a diverse programme for children and adults.
On Kansalaistori, 15 themed tents showcase the Baltic Sea's nature, culture, research, and conservation. There are games, quizzes, and tastings - you can spin the wheel of fortune, hug Harri the seal, peer through a microscope, or admire aquarium life. Children enjoy music theatre performances and dance parties, while the evening features live music in jazz and folk-rock styles. The day concludes with a Baltic Sea-themed pub quiz.
The event is organized by the John Nurminen Foundation. For more information about the programme: itameripaiva.fi/itamerifest
