Chess Club

Lauttasaaren Library offers free chess instruction for all ages on Mondays from 17:00 to 20:00 in the multipurpose hall. Classes are taught in Finnish and English.

You can join at any time. The instruction covers chess rules and different aspects of the game: openings, tactics, strategy, endgames, and tournament play. We also solve tactical puzzles and endgame exercises, play without chess clocks, and provide tips for self-study. In analyzed games, we examine the position's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats together.

The event is organized by the Lauttasaari Finnish Chess Club.
