The Reading Circle: A Changing World at Itäkeskus Library meets once a month on Wednesdays throughout autumn 2026. The group discusses literature addressing current issues and interesting phenomena of our time. The circle is led by librarians Anne and Liisa, and meetings are held in the Kanerva room on the library's ground floor.

Wed 16.9.2026: Liisa Keltikangas-Järvinen: The Age of Selfishness - How Our Overly Individualistic Culture Made Us Suffer (WSOY 2026)

Wed 14.10.2026: Suvi Auvinen: The World's Last Animal - On Bear-Dogs, Hope, and the Power of the Small (Gummerus 2025)

Wed 11.11.2026: Ane Riel: Tiima (Aula&Co 2022)

Wed 9.12.2026: Marjo Näkki: The Reign of Ice Shifts - The Arctic in the Upheaval of World Order (Gummerus 2026). The group will also select books for spring 2027.

No registration is required to join the reading circle, and it is open to all interested participants. You can attend individual meetings or come regularly.
