Riitta Paakki Quartet - MalmiJazz

Riitta Paakki Quartet performs music composed by Riitta Paakki. Founded in 2013, the quartet combines Paakki's clear playing style, Manuel Dunkel's powerful and nuanced sound, and the rhythm section of Antti Lötjönen and Joonas Riippa. The faster compositions draw inspiration from bebop of decades past, while the slower pieces paint melancholic landscapes.

The quartet's discography includes the live recording Live at Koko Jazz Club (2018), the album Piste (2020) which was nominated for the Emma Award for jazz album of the year, and Väri (2023). The concert will also feature new material being prepared for an upcoming release.
