Children's Comics Festivals - Helsinki Comics Festival

The third Children's Comics Festivals focus on children's perspectives and comics created for children.

Friday's guests include Puupäähattu Prize winners Aino Havukainen and Sami Toivonen (Tatu and Patu books) and Danish creators of the Mira book series Sabine Lemire and Rasmus Brenghøi. Children participate in the event both as interviewers and interviewees: on stage you'll see nine-year-old Leo Humina, who has created the Curious Squirrel books with his mother. Additionally, child celebrities will present their favorite comics, Äxyt Zeeprat will perform, and you can meet YouTuber Lavliq and join workshops ranging from manga drawing to treasure hunts.

Helsinki's 41st Comics Festival takes place at Stoa the same weekend, 19-20 September 2026. The programme features a comics market, artist interviews, panel discussions, and exhibitions at Stoa and other venues across Helsinki. All events are free to enter.
