Towards the Unknown - Family Day

On Saturday, Vuotalo hosts a family day at the Towards the Unknown exhibition. Illustrator Pasi Pitkänen is on site drawing in the exhibition space - you can watch how the images come to life.

Family-friendly workshops introduce participants to collage techniques and pin-making. In the collage workshop, participants create by drawing, cutting, and tearing their own strange creatures and magical snakes - alone or with an adult. Finished works can be taken home. During the story hour, Pitkänen's adventure book The Island of Lost Animals is read aloud.

The exhibition space features a wide selection of books illustrated by Pitkänen, available to borrow and take home. The Towards the Unknown exhibition for children and young people runs until 26.9.2026 in Vuotalo's gallery.
