East Book Fair

East Book Fair is East Helsinki's own celebration of literature, bringing together authors, publishers, booksellers and discussions under one roof for a Saturday. The event is open to all ages.

The day's programme covers topics including East Helsinki, multilingualism, comics and translation - featuring author meetings and shared reflection on what people are reading in the east right now. Children and young people have their own programme and workshops in the afternoon. The foyer sales tables offer books, magazines and other publications from both large and small publishers.

The evening programme opens with the word-art duo Marjo Niemi and Eeva Turunen, and the evening concludes with Asa's concert. Tickets for the evening programme will go on sale in summer.

The event is organized by the Youth Force Association in collaboration with Stoa and the East Helsinki Library. East Book Fair also works with the Helsinki Book Fair, which takes place at Messuhalli in October.
