Author Talk with Dess Terentjeva

Writer Dess Terentjeva visits Jyväskylä Pride week as a guest author. The event is organized in collaboration with Jyväskylä SETA rf.

Terentjeva writes rainbow-themed books for adults and young people - her texts explore otherness, multiculturalism, love, and the ways people categorize themselves and each other. Her seventh novel "A Big Dog Runs and a Headless Rooster Flies," coming out in autumn 2026, draws from her personal experiences of shame about her Russian heritage.

Terentjeva, who lives in Tampere, graduated from the University of Jyväskylä. During the visit, she will be interviewed by journalist Iida Joela.

The event takes place on Lava, the 1st floor of the main library. Admission is free and the venue is accessible.
