Alternative Finnish Rock: Nymfiparakiitti + Tahrat

Two Jyväskylä-based alternative rock bands perform at Aren square: Nymfiparakiitti and Tahrat.

Tahrat continues the development of Finnish rock from where it left off in the 2000s. The band's distinctive voice, tasty riffs and catchy choruses form the core of this five-piece rock machine. In reviews, the band has been compared to YUP, CMX and Don Huonot. More information: www.tahratyhtye.fi

Nymfiparakiitti was formed in Jyväskylä in spring 2023. The band's music moves between tenderness and chaos - the atmosphere of electric piano, stylish riffs and songs that build towards the end create its modern Finnish rock sound. Their first EP "Miksi olet tuollainen?" was released on 15.5.2026 and is more serious and thematically darker than previous releases. The EP draws inspiration from 90s alternative rock, progressive rock, Finnish pop and 2000s metal, and addresses themes including self-hatred, addictions, existentialism, regret and mental health disorders.
