Fretti Mercury Seeks Happiness is a musical about friendship and the search for happiness. The melancholy Fretti Mercury persuades his friend Rabbit Virtanen to embark on a journey - but despite encountering many happy creatures, their own happiness seems to remain out of reach.

Along the way they receive help from, among others, Jon Bon Door, Kirva Babitzin, Mouse Mama Rantanen, Tessu Redford, Owl Million, Nail Vesala and Lamb Mattila. A frightening Tunnel Jäätteenmäki also looms - and finally the world's best private detective Seiti Detective emerges from his freezer to help the friends.

The music is composed by Marzi Nyman and the song lyrics are written by Mariska. The text is written by Miika Nousiainen and full of his distinctive linguistic playfulness. In the songs, unbridled humour and melancholy go hand in hand, and the allusions hidden in the characters' names offer an additional layer for adult audiences.

The production is based on Miika Nousiainen and Sanna-Mari Pirkola's children's book of the same name (2020).
