Charlotte Clermont: du soleil, que ça existe

Charlotte Clermont's work du soleil, que ça existe is a two-channel analog projection combining film, sound, and space. The work is presented at Hippolyte Studio from 7.8 to 6.9.2026.

At the heart of the work lies a question about how the body constructs and sustains the experience of reality - particularly in relation to desire, distance, and language. Landscapes are approached as bodies: the relationship between human and natural elements, especially water, serves as the work's underlying tension. The fluidity of water and identity flow in parallel throughout the entire piece.

The visual material is recorded on black-and-white 16 mm film. Slowly unfolding landscape panoramas and close-ups depicting bodies move at the boundary between abstraction and representation - closer to moving photography than traditional film narrative. Clermont has employed experimental solarization technique, which blurs the boundaries between drawing, painting, and film, bringing layers of light, shadow, and texture to the work.

The exhibition is open Tue-Fri 12.00-17.00 and Sat-Sun 12.00-16.00. Admission is free.
