The Other Side of the Mountain - Notes from African and Afro-Nordic Perspectives

Amos Rex's autumn 2026 flagship exhibition presents contemporary art from artists working on the African continent and in the Afro-Nordic diaspora. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with Swedish Southnord.

The work approaches the city as a living organism and landscape as an environment shaped by the state. Through Black perspectives and alternative forms of knowledge, it explores the distances and proximities that these spaces create between people.

The exhibition features 11 artists, nearly 60 works, and three new commissioned pieces. Amos Rex, 14.10.2026-21.3.2027.
