Eury / Orfeo

Contemporary chamber opera Eury / Orfeo merges the visual poetry of Milka Luhtaniemi and Lauri Supponen's Eury with the baroque classic Orfeo. The work is arranged for Marianna Henriksson (keyboards) and Joonatan Rautio (vocals & saxophone). The performance descends into mythic wetland ecologies, with Irene Suosalo's animation art and Viktor Toikka's sound design constructing an electronic landscape.

Eury is also an advocacy statement for the establishment of the Vaara-Kainuu Art National Park.
