Author meeting on "In the World of War and Peace" 1/2. At Tapiola Library on Saturday 19.9.2026 from 13:00 to 14:30.

Sociologist and non-fiction writer Sari Näre discusses the impact of wars on women's lives through the experiences of her own ancestors. Her works include "Wars Through My Ancestors' Eyes" (Docendo 2025), "Helsinki in Blood. Women, Children and Youth in the 1918 War" (Tammi 2018), and "Ugly War. The Silent History of the Winter War and Continuation War" (ed. S. Näre/J. Kirves, Johnny Kniga 2008). The meeting is hosted by cultural researcher Irene Jelin. Admission is free.

The second part of the series will be held at Tapiola Library on Saturday 24.10. from 13:00 to 15:00 under the title "Olavi Paavolainen's Dark Monologue 80 Years On".
