Music Theory, Advanced Course

This course continues from the Music Theory course and deepens the foundations of Western classical music. Topics include tonality, cadences, and musical form structures. Through practical examples and exercises, the course explores how theory can enrich musical understanding and enhance listening and playing experience.

Alongside Western classical music, examples from other musical cultures are examined, such as jazz, Indian classical music, and Japanese traditional music.

The course is led by music educator Sakari Heikka. Teaching is in Finnish, with a maximum of 10 participants. You are welcome to bring your own instrument if you wish.
