Workshop: How to Support Your Child's Reading and Writing Development in Finnish

How can parents support their child's early reading development in Finnish? This practical workshop presents concrete ways to help your child read and write in Finnish - both at home and in everyday situations.

The workshop is intended for parents and other adults. Children cannot be brought along. The event is conducted in English.

The speaker is Evelyse Eerola, an educator and researcher in early literacy development. She has a background in early childhood education and several years of experience as a preschool teacher in Finland. Eerola is from Brazil and is an immigrant herself, so she understands the challenges of multilingual everyday life firsthand.

She holds a master's degree in bilingual literacy development and is currently working on her doctoral dissertation about early literacy development in immigrant children within Finland's education system.
